What Spirituality is Not

Spirituality is not immunity from pain. It is not a hiding-from-life strategy. Not a self-numbing technique, nor is it a place of untouchability from life’s challenges.

Spirituality is non-fixation. It is neither duality nor non-duality.

It is the inquiry into every place of hiding that masquerades as us.

It is the ultimate home coming, having never left.

Spirituality is the melting away of all illusion and confusion.

It is the questioning of everything you think you know. It is the disappearing of your most cherished questions.

Spirituality is not belief! It is the seeing through of every belief and image and thought.

Spirituality is the inclusion of the entirety of Life… living as Life!

It is the ending of Life lived from the perspective of “me and my life.”

It is an identity shift from “the separate and isolated me” to already existing seamlessness and wholeness of Life.

It is the discovery of wholeness within, the freeing up of our deepest humanity and completeness and living as THAT.

Spirituality is not a solution to relational struggles and pain, it is NOT a remedy to our traumas. Spirituality cannot replace healing and growth work!

Spirituality is not about more knowledge or knowing, but about the recognition of unknowing as our very nature.

Spirituality is God recognized as everything and everyone, the coming together of nothingness and somethingness, of nobodiness and somebodiness, it is the ultimate full circle!

Spirituality is NOT about fairy tales of Enlightenment and perpetual bliss and endless orgasms!

It is the destruction of every construction, the falling away of all pretense and all that is sustained as a reaction to pain.

It is the breaking open of the heart… not your heart but Eternity’s heart expressed as you!

Spirituality is the forgetting about freedom and awakening… it is coming to the end of spirituality.

It is the ever deepening discovery of Life lived as a human being, both on our knees and wings, the way it’s always been.
